Our Mission

Our primary mission is to help you get treatment for your addiction and to help you live a healthy life style, so you can avoid getting cancer. Cancer and heart disease are the leading causes of death. Drinking and drugs are the leading causes of cancer. What makes us different? Read on...

a. The specific activities: We create articles regarding cancer prevention. We bring up studies about the link between alcohol and drug use and increased chances of cancer. Our activities involve writing content for visitors to read, speaking with visitors who have cancer symptoms, encourage healthy habits with visitors (i.e. walking, eating plant based, avoiding drugs and alcohol. Furthermore, activities often include a volunteer sharing their personal story of how they are living with cancer. A visitor often has symptoms of cancer, and a volunteer does their best to support the visitor.

b. Volunteers are the most common persons who participate in activities. In addition, some writers are paid a small amount to write and do research to create quality researched content. Often, we ask volunteers to donate written content to bring awareness for cancer. The donated content can take different forms. One example, the content is selected to reduce stress for existing cancer patients. Many volunteers have had cancer and want to help.

c. Activities will or are being done mostly via the internet and on the phone. For internet activities, a person will be able to find the website and read content. The most important aspect of the mission has been getting those with cancer symptoms to get a cancer screening. For illustration, men often are afraid to get a coloscopy even when they have blood in the stool. A volunteer often is to be supportive to help the website visitor to get into their cancer doctor. Cancer screening awareness and early diagnosis is key. Catching cancer early is key. Over the phone: volunteers often bring up their cancer to others. For example, some volunteers may ask on the phone to friends whether they have blood in the stool? If the answer is yes, they would share their colon cancer experience. In summary, most of the mission is accomplished via phone, chat, and published content.

d. The internet activities are always available. Chat is available when volunteers are available. For example, some volunteers may volunteer 10 hours a week. Often volunteers who write, write from their home and email the content to us as a donation. Most of our writers are vegan. Being vegan reduces your chances of colorectal and some other cancers. For example, they may write an article on consuming red meat and increasing chances of colon cancer. In other words, articles are written about things people can do to help reduce the risk of cancer.

e. The nonprofit doesn’t charge any fees.

f. The overwhelming amount of time and resources is spent on the activities to advance the cancer screening and prevention mission.

g. The biggest mission is to help those with potential cancer symptoms to get cancer screening early. For example, one of Encounter Group's volunteers spoke with a visitor who had blood in their stool. The volunteer explained how they have Stage 4 colorectal cancer. The volunteer explained to the visitor blood in the stool is a serious "red flag" for cancer. Although the visitor was in his early thirties, he was able to get cancer screening. Luckily, his doctors caught the precancerous polyps, and they were removed before they could possibly turn into cancer. This person was not even interested in getting a screening until he heard the Encounter Group's volunteer cancer story. Cancer stories help encourage people to get screened.

4. Alcohol and Addiction was formed on 12/12/2020.

5. Alcohol and Addiction will not and does not engage with financial transactions of any donors who own control.

6. Alcohol and Addiction are not doctors. Please always contact your doctor for help first and foremost.

Make A Decision

  • Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.

Those with serious illness like cancer, heart disease, and alcoholism live much longer if they do things that make them happy. Our helpline volunteers will do their best to help you do things that make you happy.

Change Morals

  • Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

Prevention of cruelty of animals. By going plant based, you reduce your chance of getting many cancers.. By going plant based, you can save hundreds of animals from suffering in factory farms. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
